Three Questions for your Auto Repair Shop!
If you keep your car long enough, you will be looking for auto repair services at some point in time. Start looking for a reliable auto repair shop and use it for small issues so you can determine whether or not you can trust them for major repairs and maintenance.
When scheduling an appointment at an auto repair shop, here are three questions to ask:
- How much will the parts and labor cost? You should receive a quote for the cost of the parts your vehicle needs as well as for labor. If the cost is more than you can pay all at once, ask that the needed work be prioritized, starting with the auto repair that will ensure your vehicle is operational and safe. Schedule any additional repairs for later as your budget allows.
- What parts will be used and are they covered by a warranty? Some parts have a guarantee that covers only a portion of the cost of the part. Make sure you understand exactly what is, or is not, covered!
- How long will the work take? Don’t leave the auto repair shop until you understand how long the job will take. You may need to make arrangements for alternative transportation.
Remember that mechanics want to help you and are happy to answer your questions about auto repair services. Also, be sure to check if the auto repair shop offers specials for services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and others.
