Take Care of Flat Tire Repair ASAP!
You’ll regret it if you do not have a flat tire repair taken care of as soon as possible! Of course, no one wants to be stranded out in the middle of nowhere, or in a rainstorm, but when your tire goes flat, stop immediately, get the spare out, change the tire (or call for a tow truck to change the tire for you), and then head to the nearest auto shop to repair the flat tire.
Many drivers have continued to drive on a flat tire and regretted it later. This typically causes more damage to the tire and the wheel rim, resulting in more costly repairs than just the repair or replacement of a flat tire. It can also be very dangerous. A driver can lose control of their vehicle while driving on a flat tire which could result in a serious traffic accident.
The cost for a simple flat tire service is minimal compared to hundreds if not thousands of dollars for other costly repairs.
Here are just a few examples of what these more costly repairs might be:
- Damaged or destroyed wheels
- Destroyed or damaged suspension or struts
- Damaged or premature brake damage; discs, pads, shoes, calipers, etc.
Before taking an extended trip in your vehicle, be sure to check your spare tire for proper inflation and tread depth. Often spares slowly loose air pressure because they are rarely used. Worse than a flat tire is a ‘flat’ spare! Also periodically check to be sure you have the proper tools to change a spare tire. These precautions and pre-checks can save you time, frustration and money in the long run.
